What is Field Changes?

Field Changes refers to modification made to the plans or specifications of a construction project once it has already begun. Field changes are often made to address problems that are discovered during the construction process, or to make changes requested by the owner or other stakeholders. These changes can include things like adding or deleting rooms, changing the layout, modifying the materials used, or adding upgrades. It is important for field changes to be properly authorized, budgeted and tracked to ensure the project stays on schedule and within budget.
