Real Estate Glossary

What's a Grantee?

Grantee is a term used in real estate to refer to the person or entity that receives property or an interest in a property through a legal document called a "deed." The grantee is the person who is now the legal owner of the property and has the right to use and occupy it, as well as make any improvements or changes to the property that they see fit. The grantee is also responsible for paying property taxes and any other debts or liens that may be attached to the property. In real estate transactions, a grantee is often the person buying a property from a seller, also known as a grantor, and taking title to the property through a transfer of ownership.

In summary, Grantee is the one who gets the property from the seller.
